Attorney Awards
Throughout his legal career, Attorney Stephen A. Brundage has received multiple awards and honors, which include:
Avvo
Avvo ratings are determined by a multitude of relevant factors, including experience, professional achievements, associations, speaking engagements, peer endorsements, and disciplinary sanctions. The rating system is designed to give a brief insight into an attorney’s history and background. Avvo utilizes a 1 (Extreme Caution) to 10 (Superb) rating scale.
Clients’ Choice Awards are granted to attorneys who have at least 5 4+ star reviews in any given year. This honor is granted annually.
Super Lawyers
Super Lawyers utilizes a patented multiphase selection process when evaluating potential attorneys. Determining factors include nominations, professional achievements, and peer recognition. Attorneys are selected annually on a state-by-state basis. 5% of attorneys are selected to Super Lawyers.
Leading Lawyers
Leading Lawyers are selected based on peer nominations and extensive background checks. Utilizing a multiphase selection process, the Advisory Board at Leading Lawyers approves less than 5% of all licensed attorneys in each state.

Martindale-Hubbell
Historically, Martindale-Hubbell Peer Review Ratings were determined by two rating systems.
System 1 - The “A B C” Scale:
- To receive an A rating, an attorney must be reported as “Very High” in their legal ability and have at least 10 years of legal practice.
- To receive a B rating, an attorney must be reported as “High” in their legal ability and have at least 5 years of legal practice.
- To receive a C rating, an attorney must be reported as “Fair” in their legal ability. For this rating, there is no limitation on the length of practice.
System 2 - The “V” Rating:
- Coinciding with the “A B C” scale, the “V” rating was later added in order to display that the attorney has “Very High” ethical standards in the eyes of their peers. As time has passed, the ratings have transitioned to “AV”, “BV”, and “CV”.
Today, Martindale-Hubbell conducts an in-depth review of attorneys who wish to receive a Martindale-Hubbell Peer Review Rating. Attorneys may receive 1 of the following ratings:
- AV Preeminent
- Distinguished
- Notable
- BV Distinguished Rating
